Terry Dowdall has represented Simcoe—Grey as its Member of Parliament since October 2019.
Terry has a longstanding reputation as an effective municipal leader, successful business owner and strong member of the community. He has 18 years of municipal experience, serving the Township of Essa in the roles of mayor, deputy mayor and councillor. He served as a Simcoe County councillor for 15 years, from 2003 to 2018.
Terry was elected in 2014 and in 2016 as the County’s Deputy Warden. Additionally, he has served three terms on the board of directors for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, an organization voicing the concerns of municipalities nationally since 1901.
Terry’s meaningful and directly relevant public sector experience is complemented by his private sector background as a small business and commercial property owner. With his many levels of experience, Terry understands the importance of all levels of government working together. He is honored to represent the people of Simcoe—Grey in Ottawa.
Terry is married with two daughters. He lives in rural Simcoe County near New Lowell.
